CALP PPS Standard Injection Molding Condition Table

Pre-drying ■120 to 140℃ × 5 to 2hr
  • CALP PPS is a low water absorbent resin, but the pellets must be pre-dried to obtain a stable molded product.
Cylinder Temperature ■ (Under Hopper) 280-300-320-320℃ (Nozzle)
  • The maximum temperature should be set at 340°C.
  • If the temperature is set too high, CALP PPS may deteriorate and not function as originally intended.
  • If the temperature is set too high, drooling and gassing may occur easily.
  • If the molding machine is open and drooling is a problem, lower the nozzle temperature slightly (10 to 20℃).
  • If the temperature of the feed section (rear part) is set too low, the screw and cylinder wear may be accelerated.
Mold Temperature ■130 to 160℃ (Recommended)
  • Mold temperatures will change the degree of crystallinity of molded products, affecting dimensional stability, mechanical strength, appearance, etc. It is recommended to use an insulation plate to stabilize the mold temperature.
  • Set the mold temperature to 60 to 80°C for low-temperature mold molding. However, insufficient crystallization may result in dimensional changes due to post-shrinkage, or in a decrease of strength and heat resistance.
Other
  • Do not allow products to remain in the molding machine for 10 minutes or longer. When restarting molding, purge the molding machine thoroughly (appearance defects such as burns or silvering may occur).
  • Use low MI PE or commercially available purging compounds for purging (when starting the purge, keep the cylinder temperature at the molding temperature).
