MAGICTOP is an easy-open top-seal technology for food packaging developed by Idemitsu Unitech.
It combines high seal integrity with smooth, easy opening —addressing a common challenge in conventional top-seal containers.
MAGICTOP is used in a wide range of food packaging applications,including gift jellies and nutritional support products.
Key Features
MAGICTOP is designed to withstand internal pressure and maintain high seal integrity. It performs reliably during sterilization, stacked storage, and transportation, helping protect product quality and prevent leakage.
MAGICTOP opens smoothly with minimal force. Its unique design allows the lid to be opened easily and reliably from the user’s preferred starting point, improving usability for consumers and efficiency in food service operations.
MAGICTOP meets Japanese requirements for retort food packaging, with a minimum seal strength of 22.6 N per 15 mm width.*
It also provides easy opening with an opening force of approximately 9.8 N.**
*Based on Japan's Specifications and Standards for Foods, Food Additives, etc. (MHLW Notification No.370). The value of 22.6 N /15 mm is converted from 2.3 kgf/15 mm.

A wide sealing window supports stable operation on filling and sealing lines, helping ensure efficient and consistent production.
MAGICTOP features a proprietary top-seal structure with a peelable layer on the container side.
The lid is securely heat-sealed to the container, providing high seal integrity against internal pressure.
When the lid is opened, the peelable layer separates from the container together with the lid, enabling smooth and consistent easy-open performance.
This unique structure combines high seal integrity against pressure from the inside the container while allowing easy opening from the outside.
