Refinery has approximately 50 refining units. Crude oil, transported mainly from the Middle East in large tankers, passes through these refining equipment and becomes petroleum products. Naphtha, a petroleum product, is sent to petrochemical plants and processed through petrochemical equipment to become petrochemicals. Once crude oil is sent to an atmospheric distillation unit, it takes one day to turn it into petroleum products, and from there another day to turn it into petrochemicals.
