Tokuyama Complex began operations in 1957 as a "park factory" with a green belt surrounding it. This was 10 years before the Basic Pollution Law was promulgated, and Japan took the lead in greening and beautifying factories in Japan. In addition, we have always implemented environmental measures that are ahead of the times, such as reducing benzene, a harmful substance in gasoline, and reducing the sulfur content of diesel oil, which is necessary as a measure against exhaust gas from diesel vehicles. Idemitsu Group's environmental vision
In September 2010, it was certified as a "Socially and Environmentally Contributing Green Space'' for the first time in Yamaguchi Prefecture under the "Socially and Environmentally Contributing Green Space Evaluation System (SEGES)'' operated by the Urban Greening Foundation.
