Dust scattering prevention agent “Idemitsu Coal Clean WA-500” | Implementation test
Wettability test ~ Particle drop test into water and aqueous solution ~
the purpose
"Idemitsu Coal Clean WA-500" Easily measures the wettability (compatibility) between an aqueous solution and powder. This provides a measure of the inhibitor's affinity for the coal surface.
Evaluation method and evaluation result example
-
In a beaker filled with water or an aqueous dust scattering agent solution (0.5wt%), a powder sample (0.2g) of 75μm or less is gently dropped onto the liquid surface, and the entire amount of the powder sample on the liquid surface falls into the water or solution. Measure the time.
-
The shorter the falling time, the better the wettability, and the greater the dust scattering prevention effect.
Wettability test results (fall time measurement) (unit: seconds)
water | Certain commercial product | WA-500 | |
---|---|---|---|
Coal A | Doesn't fall | 21 | 15 |
Petroleum coke B | Doesn't fall | 109 | 18 |
Situation after 20 seconds in petroleum coke B

wind tunnel test
the purpose
We will reproduce the windy conditions outdoors in the laboratory and measure the dust scattering rate for each wind speed and amount of Idemitsu Coal Clean WA-500 sprayed.
Evaluation method and evaluation result example
-
A simulated pile formed with a mold is placed in a wind tunnel, and the dust scattering rate is measured when air is blown for a certain period of time.
-
The dust scattering rate is calculated using the following formula.
