Tokuyama Complex|Environmental initiatives

Tokuyama Complex began operations in 1957 as a "park factory" with a green belt surrounding it. This was 10 years before the Basic Pollution Law was promulgated, and Japan took the lead in greening and beautifying factories in Japan. In addition, we have always implemented environmental measures that are ahead of the times, such as reducing benzene, a harmful substance in gasoline, and reducing the sulfur content of diesel oil, which is necessary as a measure against exhaust gas from diesel vehicles. We strive to reduce the environmental impact during the manufacturing and distribution stages, and have received ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management. While using this as one of our evaluation criteria, we are implementing even more stringent original measures.
