To reduce environmental impact, diesel vehicles are equipped with a filter (DPF) *1 that collects particulate matter (soot and particles derived from engine oil additives) in exhaust gas. Trapped soot can be burned away, but particles from metal additives remain and clog filters. Therefore, we designed a metal-free engine oil by making full use of uniquely developed additives, without using metal-based detergents or metal-based anti-wear agents, which are considered essential ingredients in conventional diesel engine oil. . This oil was launched on the market after confirming that it passed engine tests and laboratory performance tests stipulated by the JASO DH-2 standard, which is an engine oil standard for trucks and buses equipped with exhaust gas after-treatment devices. This technology has been highly praised for its ability to contribute to improving the working environment by reducing environmental impact and increasing the efficiency of drivers' work during vehicle maintenance and management.
Using this technology, idemitsu AshFree, a phosphorus-free and ash-free diesel engine oil that was released for the first time in the industry in September last year, does not emit ash, which can clog the DPF installed in diesel trucks and buses. , contributes to extending the life of the DPF. This reduces maintenance work (replacement and cleaning), reduces maintenance costs, and reduces mechanic labor hours. In addition, manual regeneration of the DPF *2 can be suppressed, contributing to solving the "2024 problem" in the logistics industry by reducing driver waiting time (labor time), and reducing CO2 emissions by reducing fuel usage.
