We started OLED research and development in 1985, and in 1997 we succeeded in developing OLED materials with the world's top-class practical performance in blue light emission.
As a pioneer in the field of OLED materials, the Electronic Materials Development Center develops the world's highest-performance OLED materials, and also works on the development of optimal device structures that bring out the maximum performance of the materials. We contribute to the development of the OLED display market by proposing total solution technologies that meet customer needs.

Main Activities / Research Contents - 01 Molecular Design

We design organic molecules that express customer-required performance. In addition to the analysis of information obtained from material properties, OLED elements, and computational chemistry, we are aiming at more precise molecular design by using AI, based on our accumulated data.

Main Activities / Research Contents - 02 Precise Organic Synthesis

The designed organic molecules are synthesized with high purity and high selectivity using various organic syntheses. The performance requirements of our customers are becoming higher and higher every year, and synthesizing OLED materials is becoming increasingly difficult. However, we are making use of our experience and technological capabilities cultivated so far to create materials with high performance.

Main Activities / Research Contents - 03 Evaluation & Analysis

We create OLED devices by combining synthesized materials; then evaluate, analyze, and elucidate the principles, leading to the development of materials that meet customer needs and the development of OLED device structures that bring out the best performance of materials. We may also work together with our customers to solve their problems.
