Japan's only comprehensive asphalt manufacturer
Idemitsu Kosan is the only comprehensive asphalt manufacturer in Japan that manufactures and sells all types of asphalt, including straight asphalt, Blown Asphalt, and high-performance asphalt.
Straight asphalt is supplied by several companies including major oil distributors in Japan, but Blown Asphalt is supplied only by our company in Japan. In addition, high-performance asphalt is manufactured using our proprietary compounding technology, based on petroleum asphalt of stable quality obtained from our group's Refinery.
An integrated system that supports stable supply
Approximately 30% of the asphalt distributed in Japan relies on imports. Idemitsu Kosan is based on exclusive asphalt manufactured in-house, and conducts everything from research and development to manufacturing and sales. This allows us to accurately meet customer needs and provide stable supply.
We have three shipping bases nationwide for straight asphalt and Blown Asphalt, including Refinery, and three manufacturing plants for high-performance asphalt nationwide, ensuring a stable supply system.
