Japan's only comprehensive asphalt manufacturer

Idemitsu Kosan is Japan's only comprehensive asphalt manufacturer that manufactures and sells all types of asphalt, including straight Blown Asphalt asphalt, and high-performance asphalt.
Straight asphalt is supplied by several companies, including major domestic oil wholesalers, but we are the only company in Japan that supplies Blown Asphalt. In addition, our high-performance asphalt is manufactured using our own blending technology, based on petroleum asphalt with stable quality obtained from our group's Refinery.

An integrated system that supports stable supply

Approximately 30% of the asphalt distributed in Japan is imported. Idemitsu Kosan uses its own specialized asphalt as a base and is involved in everything from research and development to manufacturing and sales. This allows us to accurately meet customer needs and ensure a stable supply.
We have a stable supply system in place, with three shipping bases nationwide for straight asphalt and Blown Asphalt, including Refinery, and three manufacturing plants for high-performance asphalt.
