Chiba Complex | Quality Initiatives

Since its operation, our Complex has consistently maintained a "consumer-oriented" business philosophy, and has promoted quality control activities in line with the idea of creating direct connections with customers and stably supplying appropriate products that meet customer needs. doing.

For petroleum products, we were certified as a factory authorized to display the JIS mark in 1974, and in 2007 we received certification under the new JIS mark display system.
Furthermore, in 1994 we obtained ISO9002 certification, an international standard for quality assurance, and in 2002 we transitioned to ISO9001 following the standard revision in 2000.
For petrochemicals, we obtained ISO 9002 certification in 1992, expanded the scope to include all products, and transitioned to ISO 9001 in 1996.

Through these JIS and ISO certifications, we strive to "supply quality products economically and stably.''

Environmentally friendly petroleum product initiatives

Since 1993, Idemitsu, including Chiba Complex, has been producing low-benzene gasoline "Idemitsu Super ZEARTH" and "Idemitsu ZEARTH", which contain less than 1% benzene. This was commercialized in advance of the benzene concentration regulations in 2000.
In addition, in advance of the sulfur-free movement to reduce the sulfur content to 10 ppm * or less, Complex installed a desulfurization equipment to remove sulfur from petroleum products, and in January 2005 we started making sulfur-free gasoline and diesel oil. We have achieved this goal.
*10ppm=0.001%
In Japan, the law stipulated that diesel oil be made sulfur-free in 2007 and gasoline in 2008, but oil refining and wholesale companies that are members of the Japan Petroleum Federation, including our company, have made both sulfur-free gasoline and diesel oil sulfur-free in January 2005. We are the first in the world to begin shipping this month.
Movements to reduce sulfur content are progressing around the world, and in 2009 the EU also decided to make gasoline and diesel oil sulfur-free with a sulfur content of 10 ppm or less.

Cracking gasoline desulfurization equipment

The cracked gasoline desulfurization equipment that produces sulfur-free gasoline is a device that significantly reduces the sulfur content in cracked gasoline refined using heavy oil cracking equipment. Since January 2005, we have been shipping sulfur-free gasoline for both high-octane and regular gasoline.

The diesel oil deep desulfurization equipment that produces sulfur-free diesel oil is a device that reduces the sulfur content contained in diesel oil. Previously, it produced low-sulfur diesel oil with a sulfur content reduced to 50 ppm. Since January 2005, we have been shipping sulfur-free diesel oil with an even lower sulfur content of 10 ppm or less.

*Automotive fuel (gasoline, diesel oil) with a sulfur content of 10 ppm or less is called "sulfur-free fuel."
