Team manager and Riders

Team manager and Rider’s comments ~Their ambition for 2018 season.~

Lucio Cecchinello : Team manager

Up to now, our team has competed in the MotoGP class with a Honda machine, and for a long time we’ve only had one rider, but this season we’ve been able to add Nakagami to our line up to make it a two rider team, thanks to the Honda Motor Company and Idemitsu Kosan.

Nakagami is a fantastic rider, but the promotion to the Moto GP class is an extremely big challenge for him. All of the riders waiting for him at the world’s top level are amazing, and they possess great talent and a wealth of experience. I’m sure there will be a succession of very tough races, and the power of the bike is in a different league to what he’s ridden up to now. First, I think it’s very important to build up experience and get used to the machine and the class. Once he’s used to the bike, the aim of the second half of the season will involve a fight to break into the top ten positions.

#30 Takaaki Nakagami

The MotoGP class is a new test and challenge for me. I’m very aware of how tough the world I’m entering into is, but I’m also proud of making it to the start line of the MotoGP class, which was always a dream of mine, and it’s thanks to the support of many people that I’ve made it to the top level in the world.
I’m extremely happy that I’m able to race in a situation where I’ve been blessed with a team like LCR Honda Idemitsu and a manager like Lucio, and I want to produce results that reflect the quality of that situation. To begin with, I’m aiming to stand on the winners’ podium as quickly as possible. I’ll be doing my very best to live up to everyone’s expectations, so I ask for your continued support.
