The Idemitsu Music Awards were established in 1990 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the TV program "Untitled Concert Concert," which began broadcasting in 1964. Since then, the awards have focused on motivation, talent, and future potential with the goal of nurturing young musicians. Including this year's winners, 112 individuals and one organization have received the award.
