Idemitsu Green Power K.K. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shunichi Kito). *1 (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Nobuyuki Nakamura; hereinafter referred to as "Idemitsu Green Power") has been selected as a supplier for the "Tocho Electric Power Plan" implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for the fourth consecutive year from fiscal 2020. As a supplier of the "Tocho Electric Power Plan," Idemitsu Green Power will provide electricity that is 100% renewable energy. *2 to some of the city-owned facilities, and to post-FIT electricity from households in Tokyo. *3 Applications will be accepted from Wednesday, November 15, 2023. The purchase period for post-FIT electricity under the "Tocho Electric Power Plan" will run from December 2023 to November 2024.
This initiative will also utilize electricity generated by solar power facilities installed at metropolitan government facilities to supply this to some of the facilities.

  • 100% renewable energy electricity: Electricity that combines renewable energy electricity including FIT (feed-in tariff system) with non-fossil certificate (renewable energy designation), and 100% renewable energy electricity using FIT electricity.

  • Graduated FIT electricity: Electricity for which the purchase period at a fixed price by the government (10 years for residential solar power generation) has ended (purchase period will end sequentially from November 2019 onwards)

The Tocho Electric Power Plan is an initiative to utilize 100% renewable energy electricity, including the FIT electricity generated by each household in Tokyo, at some Tokyo-owned facilities. As a supplier of the Tocho Electric Power Plan, Idemitsu Green Power purchases electricity from FIT electricity in Tokyo at an additional price (+1.5 yen/kWh) set by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The purchased FIT electricity will be supplied as part of 100% renewable energy electricity.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has set a goal of achieving 100% renewable energy for the electricity used in Tokyo-owned facilities in order to achieve a "Zero Emission Tokyo" that will contribute to net zero CO₂ emissions by 2050. Idemitsu Green Power will contribute to the spread of renewable energy in Tokyo by leveraging the Idemitsu Group's knowledge of household electricity sales and its strengths in possessing a wide variety of renewable energy sources such as solar, biomass, geothermal, and wind power.
