The 26th “FURUSATO PROJECT” was held at Nitta Elementary School, Chita City, Aichi Prefecture.

Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shunichi Kito; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") held the 26th "FURUSATO PROJECT" on Friday, December 9th at Chita City Shinden Elementary School, where they held a Japanese musical instrument performance and experience, as well as a tree planting ceremony.

The "FURUSATO PROJECT" is a project that allows participants to watch and experience performances of Japanese musical instruments, as well as holding a tree-planting ceremony. We have been holding this event at elementary schools across the country since 2018 with the hope of supporting the challenge, growth, and demonstration of abilities of the young people who will lead the next generation, as well as providing them with an opportunity to experience the real thing.
The 26th event was held at Nitta Elementary School in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, where one of our manufacturing bases, the Aichi Complex is located, and 318 second, fifth, and sixth graders participated.
The children clapped their hands to the rhythm when a song they knew was played, and they imitated drumming along with their classmates who were trying out a Japanese drum performance, creating a lively atmosphere. At the tree-planting ceremony, as the representative poured soil, everyone watching chanted, ``Grow your cherry tree!''

Through this activity, we will continue to provide elementary school students with opportunities to experience traditional Japanese culture, and strive to nurture the next generation, promote culture, and contribute to the local community.
