Roof-mounted solar power generation business begins in Malaysia - Contributing to the spread of clean energy in Southeast Asia -
Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shunichi Kito; hereinafter "Idemitsu") will install a 0.6MW solar power generation system on the roof of the University of Reading (Malaysia) located in EduCity Iskandar (hereinafter "EduCity"), a multi-university facility in the Iskandar Puteri district of Johor, Malaysia, and begin supplying electricity. This business will be carried out through Skye Renewables Energy Pte. Ltd. (Head office: Singapore; hereinafter "Skye Energy"), in which Idemitsu has an investment.

Our company is promoting the rooftop solar power generation business mainly in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and other countries where demand for rooftop solar power generation is expected to grow steadily.
This project will install a solar power generation system on the roof of the University of Reading (Malaysia) in the EduCity area, and supply the generated electricity to Iskandar Education Enterprise, the owner of the university facility.
This is the first time in Malaysia that renewable energy has been introduced at a large-scale university complex.
We will continue to aim to promote further energy solution projects with EduCity, and by further expanding the development of renewable energy in Malaysia, we will support low-carbonization in local communities.
