Boiler control optimization system "ULTY-V plus" achieves fuel reduction of over 1% with support for wood pellet mixed combustion rate

In order to promote its efforts toward decarbonization, The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc., Inc. is co-firing white pellets with coal at a ratio of 8% (calorific value) at its Shin-Onoda Power Station. However, there are concerns that co-firing white pellets with coal may result in a decrease in power generation efficiency, due to factors such as a difference in calorific value between white pellets and coal.
To solve this problem, the Shin-Onoda Power Plant introduced the biomass co-firing compatible version of the boiler control optimization system "ULTY-V plus." After the system was introduced, a verification test confirmed stable and efficient operation data, and demonstrated a reduction in fuel consumption of more than 1%.

"ULTY-V plus" is a device that improves boiler efficiency and leads to optimal operation by equipping boilers used in power plants and factories. The learning function incorporating AI (artificial intelligence) contributes to improving economic efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions by reducing fuel usage.
