First Production from Duva field, Norwegian North Sea
Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Shunichi Kito) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Idemitsu Snorre Oil Development Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Jun Miki)*1 has started production from Duva filed in the Norwegian North Sea on August 22, through Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS*2 (Managing Director: Futoshi Tsuneyama).

*2: Shareholders: Idemitsu Snorre Oil Development Co., Ltd. (100 %)
Duva field is estimated to have 71 million boe of total reserves and expected to produce for approximately 10 years. The production license was awarded in 2012 and Duva was discovered in 2016. The field has been developed as a subsea tie-back connected to the nearby Gjøa platform for processing and export.
Idemitsu Petroleum Norge embarked on business in Norway upon acquiring interests of the Snorre field in the Norwegian North Sea in 1989. Over the 30 years of continued business in Norway, Idemitsu Petroleum Norge has been active in a wide range of upstream business such as exploration, development and production.
In Norway, oil and gas industry actively utilizes the measures of carbon emission reduction such as hydropower from shore and wind power supply to offshore facilities. Further technologies to reduce carbon emission are also being researched and developed. Idemitsu will actively incorporate new technologies into oil and gas business in Norway and continue to contribute to environmental load reduction and stable energy supply.
