Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Shunichi Kito, hereinafter referred to as the Company) is conducting a 2MW roof installation project at a pellet factory for biomass power generation in Vietnam with the aim of spreading renewable energy overseas. The "Introduction of a Solar Power Generation System" project was selected by the Ministry of the Environment as a "FY2020 Bilateral Credit Mechanism (JCM) funding support project for equipment subsidy projects." This project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1,024 tons/year. This project will be implemented in cooperation with the Vietnamese and Japanese governments.
The project selected this time is to install a biomass power generation pellet factory operated by Ha Tien Energy Corporation Multi-member LLC (Head Office: Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam, hereinafter referred to as HATIECO) on the roof of TTCL Public Company Limited (Head Office: HATIECO's parent company). ：Bangkok, Thailand), we will install a 2MW solar power generation system and sell the generated electricity to HATIECO, the factory owner.
The Ministry of the Environment's ``FY2020 Bilateral Crediting Mechanism (JCM) Funding Support Project for Equipment Subsidy'' is a project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing advanced decarbonization technology in developing countries. In addition to quantitatively evaluating Japan's contribution to the reduction and absorption of greenhouse gas emissions, it will also be used to help Japan achieve its reduction goals.
Vietnam is in the process of stable economic growth, and the use of renewable energy is being promoted as the demand for electricity continues to expand. Through this project, we will respond to corporate needs for decarbonization and contribute to the spread of clean energy and the realization of a decarbonized society in Southeast Asia.
