FURUSATO PROJECT

What is FURUSATO PROJECT

We have been holding the “FURUSATO PROJECT” at elementary schools across the country since 2018, with the hope of providing the children who will lead the next generation with the opportunity to play traditional instruments by Japanese musical instrument players, experience hands-on learning, and commemorate the planting of cherry blossom trees.
By the end of 2023, we have visited 34 elementary schools, and 6,719 elementary school students have enjoyed Japanese musical instruments. A total of 54 trees have been planted, and they are starting to take root in elementary schools across the country.
With “culture” that fosters spiritual richness as one of the core of our corporate citizenship activities, we will support the creativity, challenge, and growth energy of the people who will lead the next generation.

The thoughts behind FURUSATO PROJECT

FURUSATO PROJECT

Through hands-on learning of traditional musical instruments and planting cherry trees, Japan's representative tree, you will expand your interest in traditional Japanese culture, and through memorable experiences, you will remember your hometown and appreciate its wonders even after you grow up. We hope that this will foster a spirit that will be passed on to the next generation.

The symbol mark depicts Japanese musical instruments (Japanese drums, shamisen, and musical instruments) and cherry blossoms (flowers, leaves, and branches) on a tree, with the hope that a Japanese spirit will grow in the hearts of children through the experience. It is expressed as an image.
