Idemitsu Art Award 2025

This is an open-entry art award aimed at young artists up to the age of 40 who will lead the next generation. We look forward to receiving original, energetic works.

Qualification requirements

Anyone who can process, send, and return the application in Japan (regardless of nationality) and was born on or after April 1, 1985.

Solicited works

A two-dimensional work that can be hung by wire. 3D works, video works, and collaborative works are not accepted. New works created after 2023 that have not been selected for other public exhibitions, etc.*
*Excluding graduation exhibitions, group exhibitions, etc.
For details, please check the work regulations stated in the application guidelines. Works that violate the application regulations will not be subject to judging or accepted for submission.

[Artwork size, weight, etc.]
162.0cm x 162.0cm (S100 size) or less / thickness of artwork = 15cm or less including frame / weight = up to 30kg
*To protect the artwork, please be sure to frame it with a temporary frame (higher than the screen, no more than 8cm wide).
*Items without a provisional frame will not be accepted for listing, so please make sure to attach one.
*Please note that there is a possibility that the frame may be scratched during transportation or inspection.

Grand Prize: 1 item, 3 million yen
Judges' Award: 5 entries, 300,000 yen each
Special Student Award: 1-2 items, 100,000 yen each
Selected: 40-50 points
Audience Award: 1 point

Application method

Please apply according to 1 to 3 below.

1. How to enter

Entry period: June 2nd (Mon) - July 31st (Thu)

  • *

    Entries will not be accepted by post; only entries can be made online.
    Your entry will be completed once you enter the required information and upload a photo of a certificate verifying your date of birth.

2. Payment of entry fees

Payment period: July 1st (Tuesday) to August 8th (Friday)
After submitting your entry, please make your payment using the designated payment slip enclosed in the "Application Package" sent to you by the Secretariat.
The payment receipt will serve as your receipt. If you are under 25 years of age and have not paid the entry fee, a payment slip will not be enclosed.
We cannot accept changes to the number of entries submitted after the entry deadline or refunds after payment has been made.

3. Preparation of the work

Please be sure to fill in the necessary information on the "Entry Form" and "Work Label" enclosed in the "Application Set" and submit them together with your work when you deliver it.
All artworks require temporary framing.
Please check the application guidelines for details on the delivery period.

When applying, be sure to check the "Application Guidelines" and select your method of loading and unloading.

■ How to load and unload

Please select the loading/unloading method from A, B, or C.
If you select A as the loading method, you can choose A or B as the unloading method.
If you select B or C as the loading method, only the corresponding B or C will be available as the unloading method.

■ Delivery

  • A:

    Direct delivery (delivered by the exhibitor or their agent)
    Delivery period: Saturday, August 23, 2025 and Sunday, August 24, 2025, 10:00-16:00 (strict timekeeping)
    *If you are bringing in your items in person, please be sure to take the packaging materials with you after bringing them in.

  • B:

    Delivery and transportation (delivery entrusted to a transport company arranged by the exhibitor)
    Delivery period: Thursday, August 21st and Friday, August 22nd, 2025
    *If the item is delivered by mail, the removal method will be B, return by cash on delivery.

  • C:

    ハート・アンド・アートに往復輸送依頼
    [集荷]→[搬入・搬出]→[返却]の一括委託が可能です(沖縄、離島を除く)。エントリーでCを選択された方は、ハート・アンド・アートへお申し込みを行ってください。

    着払い返送
    ハート・アンド・アート東京営業所より、梱包発送いたします。
    料金は、作品サイズや点数、必要な梱包状況により異なりますので、ハート・アンド・アートまでお問い合わせいただくか、以下のWebサイトをご覧ください。

    直接搬出日以降、3週間程度の期間で順次、返送いたします。日時の指定はできません。

  • C:

    Request round-trip transportation from Heart and Art
    After the direct removal date, the items will be returned to you in sequence over a period of approximately three weeks.
