Idemitsu Art Award 2026 Application Guidelines

Applicants must be able to complete procedures, shipping, and return the item within Japan (nationality is not a factor), and must have been born on or after April 1, 1986.

Two-dimensional works that can be suspended by wire for display. This includes not only paintings, but also photographs, textiles, embroidery, reliefs, and other two-dimensional forms of expression.
Sculptures, videos, and collaborative works are not accepted.
New works created in 2024 or later that have not been selected for other open-call exhibitions (excluding graduation exhibitions, group exhibitions, etc.).
While it is possible to submit a work consisting of multiple pieces as long as the overall size is within the specified limits, for judging purposes, please mount your work on a single board or similar surface before submitting.
*For details, please refer to the submission guidelines. Entries that violate the submission guidelines will not be considered for judging or will not be accepted.

[Artwork size]
Dimensions: within 162.0cm x 162.0cm (S100 size), thickness of artwork (including frame/temporary frame) within 15cm, weight up to 30kg.
*To protect the artwork, please be sure to frame it in a temporary frame or similar (that is taller than the image and no wider than 8cm).
* We will not accept submissions without a temporary frame, so please be sure to attach one.
*Please note that the frame may get scratched during transportation or inspection.
*Glass is not permitted, but acrylic sheets are acceptable.

2. Payment of entry fees

Payment period: July 1st (Wed) - August 7th (Fri) (Strictly enforced)
After submitting your application, please make your payment using the designated payment slip enclosed in the application documents sent to you by the secretariat.
The payment receipt will serve as your official receipt. If you are under 25 years old and have not paid the listing fee, a payment slip will not be included.
We cannot accept changes to the number of entries after the entry deadline, nor can we issue refunds after payment has been made.

3. Preparation of the work

Please be sure to fill in the necessary information on the "Entry Form" and "Work Label" enclosed in the "Application Set" and submit them together with your work when you deliver it.
All artworks require temporary framing.
Please check the application guidelines for details on the delivery period.

When applying, be sure to check the "Application Guidelines" and select your method of loading and unloading.

■ Delivery

• A：

  Direct delivery (delivery by the seller or their representative)
  Delivery period: August 22nd (Sat) and August 23rd (Sun), 2026, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Strictly enforced)
  *If you are bringing the items in person, please be sure to take all packaging materials with you after delivery.

• B：

  Shipping and delivery (delivery is entrusted to a shipping company arranged by the seller).
  Delivery period: Must arrive by August 20th (Thu) or 21st (Fri), 2026.
  *If the item is delivered by mail, the return method will be B, cash on delivery.

• C：

  ハート・アンド・アートに往復輸送依頼
  ［集荷］→［搬入・搬出］→［返却］の一括委託が可能です（沖縄、離島を除く）。
  エントリーでCを選択された方は、ハート・アンド・アートへお申し込みを行ってください。

• B：

  着払い返送
  ハート・アンド・アート東京営業所より、梱包発送いたします。
  料金は、作品サイズや点数、必要な梱包状況により異なりますので、ハート・アンド・アートまでお問い合わせいただくか、以下のWebサイトをご覧ください。

  直接搬出日以降、3週間程度の期間で順次、返送いたします。日時の指定はできません。

• C：

  Request round-trip transportation from Heart and Art
  After the direct removal date, the items will be returned to you in sequence over a period of approximately three weeks.
