Message from the President

I am Noriaki Sakai, Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Idemitsu. The Idemitsu Group is working on energy transition to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society while fulfilling its responsibility to provide a stable supply of energy and materials. Today, the environment surrounding the energy industry is undergoing significant changes. The growing geopolitical risks have reaffirmed the importance of energy security in the world, and there is a need for a realistic energy transition through diverse approaches tailored to the characteristics of each country and region. The mission of the Group is to maintain the existing energy infrastructure sites and networks that support our daily lives, while boldly promoting reforms according to changes in times and regions.
FY2025 is the last year of the current medium-term business plan and a significant turning point when the development of the next medium-term business plan begins in earnest. We will endeavor to provide a stable supply of energy and materials required close at hand while keeping in mind safe and stable operations, and at the same time, we will accelerate our efforts in new business areas, such as next-generation energy and advanced materials making use of the technologies and know-how developed in our existing businesses. In this way, we will take steady steps to realize our vision for 2050, “Shaping Change.”
Since its foundation, the Group has upheld the principle of “people-centered management,” where the management has been based on developing people through our businesses. Even in this time of transformation, we will leverage the strengths of each employee and prioritize building an organization where they can each show their maximum performance. 
In order for the Group to continue fulfilling its social responsibilities and creating new value, collaboration with many partners is crucial. Together with all our global customers and dealers, logistics and safety subcontracting companies, business partners (including oil-producing countries and overseas suppliers), and each of our employees with diverse backgrounds, we will continue to take on challenges by mobilizing the “power of people.” We look forward to your continued support.
