Geothermal power generation
Idemitsu Kosan has been conducting geothermal Resources surveys since the 1970s, and began its geothermal business in 1996 by supplying steam to Kyushu Electric Power Co.'s Takigami Power Plant in Kokonoe Town, Oita Prefecture. In 2017, we began independent operation of the Takigami Binary Power Plant. We are currently constructing a new geothermal power plant in the Oyasu area of Akita Prefecture.
We will continue to explore and develop geothermal Resources and ensure stable operation and operation of geothermal power plants, with the aim of domestic geothermal development that is rooted in local communities.
