Hydrogen station

What is a hydrogen station?

A hydrogen station is a station that primarily supplies high-purity hydrogen to fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs). There are two main types of methods: on-site and off-site. The "on-site type" installs hydrogen production equipment such as a reformer and electrolysis inside the station, and produces hydrogen from various fuels, hydrogen carriers, and electricity, and supplies it to the FCEV. The "off-site type" transports hydrogen produced and supplied off-site to a station and fills it into an FCEV.

Our efforts

At our company, we have been proceeding with technological development and demonstration regarding hydrogen supply infrastructure for the future spread of FCEVs.
As a national project, we have been conducting demonstration tests since 2003, and in 2011 we built an off-site demonstration Narita hydrogen station at Narita Airport and conducted demonstration research.
Since March 2016, with support from the government, we have opened and operated the commercial Narita Hydrogen Station, and in March 2021 we began operating the Chiba Kita Hydrogen Station.
Through the operation of hydrogen stations, we will contribute to the realization of a hydrogen society, as well as further verify and accumulate knowledge on business and technology aspects.
