Since the 1980s, Idemitsu has placed an emphasis on geothermal energy. Attracted to the promise of this renewable energy source, we commenced the construction of the Takigami Power Station as a joint venture with the Kyushu Electric Power Company in 1996. Located in Kokonoe-town in the province of Oita, this geothermal plant uses steam alone to generate 25,000 kw of electricity.
