Personal Information Protection Policy (Privacy Policy) (Translation)

To appropriately protect and manage information in its business activities, the Idemitsu Group established the General Principles for Information Management on July 6, 2004, and the Personal Information Protection Regulations on October 1, 2004.

We have now established an additional Personal Information Protection Policy (Privacy Policy) as follows, and appropriately manage personal information, always remain keenly aware that "personal information is something precious we are holding for our customers."

  1. Basic Principles
    In handling personal information, we observe the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, other relevant legal statutes and the guidelines provided by competent authorities.
  2. Principle of Obtainment
    We limit the obtainment of personal information to the scope of business objectives of the Idemitsu Group, and clearly state the purposes of use for written documents and other material received from customers, which are received with their consent.
  3. Principle of Use
    We limit use of personal information in our custody within the scope of the purposes of use.
  4. Principle of Provision and Disclosure
    Except the following cases, we do not provide or disclose personal information to third parties.
    1. When we have received the consent of the customer
    2. When we have received an inquiry from a public organization pursuant to laws and regulations
    3. When solely to achieve the purposes of use, we entrust the handling of all or part of a customer´s personal data to a third party under the appropriate management and oversight of the Idemitsu Group
    4. Other cases mandated by laws and regulations
  5. Principle of Ensuring Accuracy
    Solely to achieve the purposes of use, we maintain customers´ private data as received in an accurate manner and update it with the most recent content.
  6. Principle of Prevention of Unauthorized Access
    We strive to prevent unauthorized access to or loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of personal information.
  7. Principle of Disclosure, etc. of Personal Data in Custody
    We respond promptly and appropriately to requests for disclosure, correction, or deletion of personal data held in the Company´s custody.
  8. Continual Improvement
    We strive to continually improve the protection of personal information and the structure of personal information management.
