Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Akihiko Tembo) started construction of a plant for producing Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) materials in Omaezaki-shi, Shizuoka prefecture by in February 2006 and the plant will start production on April 19, 2007.

Construction of the new factory cost a total of 1.5 billion yen and the plant boasts a floor space of 1,800 sq. m and an annual production capacity of approximately 2 tons.

Idemitsu Kosan has been working on the development and merchandizing of OLED materials and now supplies to display manufacturers throughout the world a variety of such materials including the “idel®*” OLED material and blue light-emitting material , which our product boasts top share in the world.

Until now, production has been outsourced to domestic chemical companies, but Idemitsu Kosan has initiated operation of its own manufacturing plant in order to ensure stable supply to meet the demands of the expanding market.
