PURETHERMO

Transparent PP Sheet Without Nucleating Agent

"PURETHERMO" is a transparent PP sheet without a nucleating agent made using in-house belt process technology.
PURETHERMO is used in food containers/covers and medical packages taking advantage of transparency and PP's heat resistance.

Product Features

Transparency and gloss

Since transparency is created by compressing PP with a belt and rolled at low temperature from a molten condition during the quenching film process by means of the belt process, PURETHERMO is a transparent PP sheet without a nucleating agent.

Thermoformability

To perform quenched solidification of plastics from a molten condition with the direct belt quenching process, film is formed in a low crystal condition, which is not applicable to conventional PP. Therefore, the softening temperature of the sheet is decreased enabling low-temperature thermoforming. The thermoforming temperature range is thereby extended and problems such as difficulties in thermoforming, which have been a challenge of transparent PP are solved.

Stiffness

Fine crystallization is promoted by reheating during the thermoforming process which improves the stiffness over that of typical PP materials, while maintaining high transparency.

Wide sealing conditions

PP exhibits superior heat resistance when compared to other general-purpose plastics.

Application Examples

1.Food container, cover and food packaging

Most packed lunches and foods sold in convenience stores and supermarkets are heated in a microwave oven before being eaten. However, it has been argued that existing food packages can become deformed when heated at the stores. Since the temperature of any foods with a high oil percentage increases to more than 100ÂșC, packing materials are required to be thermal-proofed. PURETHERMO is widely employed because of its heat resistance and the fact that it has the same thermoformability as existing products.

2.Medical kit product packaging

Medical kit product packaging
Medical packing materials are treated by EOG (ethylene oxide gas) and AC (autoclave) sterilization, gamma sterilization, electron-ray beam sterilization as are their contents such as medical equipment and medicines.
In addition, transparency is required so that the contents can be accurately identified by sight in a clinical scene.
PURETHERMO, which is appropriate for such requirements, is widely employed as a medical packing material.
