Functional Material Department
Introduction of the Functional Material Department of Idemitsu Unitech Co., Ltd.
Now, we, Idemitsu Unitech Co., Ltd., started to face present and future challenges to embark on the new fields, using our processing technologies which has been fostered through the developments and productions of the products.
Among the challenging new fields, we were ahead of focusing attention on the liquid crystal panel-related components of which the global market had been rapidly growing.
By combining all of our technologies on "resin," for example, of the Idemitsu Group, we continue our challenges on the various products developments.
We have been developing the liquid crystal panel-related components such as "a diffuser plate" and "light-guide plate" which were created by the marriage of the Idemitsu's resin with superior optical properties and our long-fostered, multi-layered co-extrusion & transfer forming technologies.
The liquid crystal panel-related components feature its very accelerated speed of its technical innovation. To cope with the accelerated speed, we established the factory in Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture in 2007. In 2009, we established the cutting-edge manufacturing equipment in the Chiba Factory(Plant).
In the Factory, the Development Group was also established, resulting in the structure, integrated both of the Manufacturing and Developing Departments. We are offering various proposals to our customers.
In addition, according to the starting-up operations overseas of the liquid crystal panel Japanese companies, we try to respond the local supply needs of these companies, operating in foreign countries. Thus we have been building up the overseas production structure such as in the South-east Asian countries.
On the other hand, we strengthens the tie with Idemitsu Kosan. Under the collaborations with Idemitsu Kosan and Idemitsu Unitech, the new processing technologies have been developed. In 2009, in "Performance Material Laboratory of Idemitsu Kosan" in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, the large-sized laboratory equipment which has closer functions (in spec.) to those of the actual production line was introduced. While with this equipment, we have been promoting the new products development such as of a low retardation sheet by an Idemitsu Group's original, Belt-molding method and a biaxially-oriented film which is made by the Idemitsu's original material, a syndiotactic polystyrene(XAREC.) (resin,) we are providing a roll-type sample.
We introduce our diffuser plate.
