IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia rider Takaaki Nakagami to compete in the MotoGP class next season IDEMITSU continues to support him

Takaaki Nakagami, a rider with IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia, has been chosen for promotion to the MotoGP class*1 starting next season. IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia is a racing team in the FIM*2 World Championship of motorcycle road racing Moto2 class. Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Takashi Tsukioka; hereinafter, the“Company”) is a main sponsor of the team.
Supporting Honda Motor Co., Ltd.’s motorsports philosophy “From Asia to the World,” the Company has sponsored IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia since 2013, supporting young riders from Asia as they take on the challenges of competing worldwide.

After joining IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia in 2014, Takaaki Nakagami finished in sixth place overall in the Moto2 class last season. He has continues his exploits in Moto2*3 this season, standing in the winners’ circle three times already.

The Company expresses its heartfelt congratulations to Nakagami for his promotion to the MotoGP class and will continues to support him through its sponsorship of LCR TEAM Honda.

Together with holding high expectations for Nakagami’s further success, the Company will continue to support the activities of him and other Asian grand prix riders and, at the same time, contribute to the development of motorsports culture.
