Since its foundation, Idemitsu has been carrying out its business operation under the fundamental principal of "respect for human beings." "Society at its core is formed by human beings,"said Founder Sazo Idemitsu. In 2011, Idemitsu marked the 100th anniversary of its founding. At this major milestone, we will review its 100-year history.
The following introduces some words from Sazo Idemitsu, who practiced human-centric business management throughout his life. These words were spoken at various venues and occasions.
Idemitsu began its oil sales business in Moji, Kitakyushu, Japan on June 20, 1911, operating under the name Idemitsu Shokai. One hundred years have passed since then. We look back on its turbulent 100-year history.
The Idemitsu Museum of History, Moji, shares a site with the Idemitsu Museum of Arts, Moji in Mojiko Retro Town in the city of Kitakyushu. The museum's exhibits have been thoroughly remodeled to mark Idemitsu's 100th anniversary. We encourage visitors to retrace Sazo Idemitsu's footsteps.
